The cold wind swept across the frozen landscape known as Frostfire Ridge. This frozen hell had become her 'home away from home' in the past months but did not entirely seem to mind it. Selenthiel stood atop the stone walls of her garrison overlooking the cold and wind swept landscape, her gaze focused on the horizon. A large fur pelt with an attached hood wrapped around her torso and head, providing some warmth amongst the elements of the outside. The hooded portion of the fur weighed upon her elven ears revealing a slight discomfort to her but it was nothing compared to what she knows she would experience without it. She sighed and turned back towards the inner ward of the garrison. A group of Orgrimmar peons had centered around a large pyre that had been constructed to provide some warmth against the continuous onslaught of the cold. For a brief moment she found herself pitying them, as the evening hours tended to be more cold than the daylight hours but she quickly remembered that her fellow Orcish companions were better suited for harsher environments than herself. She began to make her way off the garrison wall as she proceeded down a set of stone slabs that had been carved out of the stone walls to resemble stairs but quickly noticed a hooded figure approaching her from below. The hooded figured took a few steps towards her and stopped upon noticing her, "Lady Selenthiel." they spoke as the figure removed their hood only to reveal Lan'Veros Furybrand, captain of her garrison forces. He offered a slight bow but remained stationary, "I have news from Silvermoon..." he said as his voice trailed off into silence. Selenthiel immediately signed knowing that any 'news' from Silvermoon either would mean the Magistrate was attempting to request an update on any new developments or simply to inform her of some political tragedy caused by non other than her sister Tyavel, whom she had high hopes for in maintaining her rightful role as leader of House Felo'melorn. "What is this news, Lan'Veros?" she asked with lack of interest. Lan'Veros grinned at her words, "It may not be as bad as you may think." he said as he handed her sealed envelope bearing her House symbol. Selenthiel scowled at him and reached for the letter. Lan'Veros had become one of her must trusted advisers since she arrived in Draenor, he had always been reliable in the field of battle as well as at her side for counsel. Because of this she and him and developed a close bond with one another and she saw him more than just a captain of her forces. "It grows colder, perhaps it is best if you read what your sister has to say in the privacy and warmth of your personal chambers." Lan'Veros said showing consideration for her. Selenthiel simply nodded and offered him a gentle smile. Hes stood aside allowing room for her to pass by him on the stone stairs leading off the garrison walls and as she did she could feel his eyes on her as she passed by him. She knew Lan'Veros was attracted to her and even her to him but she could not afford to allow herself to to be distracted when so much faith was placed in her by others. Before she continued on, she stopped and turned back to Lan'Veros who unsurprisingly still had his eyes locked on her, "Perhaps you should organize an additional scouting party with you administering it's leadership to cool off...."she said with a condescending tone. Lan'Veros simple smiled and bowed, "At once, commander." Lan'Veros departed in the opposite direction of her and she turned in the direction of town hall once more and continued on.
Selenthiel finally arrived at the large wooden doors that lead inside the town hall and two Sin'dorei guards saluted her and quickly opened the bulky doors for her. The two doors came to life with the sound of crackling and squealing from the combined movement of metal and wood revealing a large, well lit room with countless advisers and followers performing tasks around the room. Selenthiel nodded at the two guards as she entered the room, the doors closed behind her shortly after in which making a loud noise that echoed throughout the room announcing her presence. Satisfied she now could read her letter she began to open up the sealed envelope only to make true on what her suspicions held...a letter from Tyavel. She looked up from the letter only to see more than half the room looking at her but she quickly dismissed them and went back to the letter.
"My dearest sister,
I hope all is well with you and I want you to know you are in my thoughts daily. It still baffles me as to why you would volunteer for such service in such savage lands, surely you must miss the luxuries of home as well as civilized companionship....however this is inconsequential and not the reason as to why I write to you now.
I received a letter from the Ebon Hold in regards to an investigation being conducted on their behalf within Silvermoon in which they mention seeking out a construct of immense and evil power. At this point you are already aware as to what it is they seek and just 'whom' it is. I have spoken with the Magistrate of Silvermoon on the matter and they have concluded that any such investigation will not hinder our House's name and nor will be be affiliated with any negative repercussions that come from this. They have placed the matter within our hands as well as House Sunfire. The Ebon Hold will be sending one of their own agents to further investigate whom goes by the name of 'Malfecta'....a horrible name at that, and they will be in charge of leading this investigation. She is due to arrive today but I will not have time to accommodate her. The duties of Magistrix is terribly busy as you know, so this task will be brought to you. I expect you to fully aid her while she is under going this investigation and will be referring her to your more than capable hands. Keep in mind Biara and Kyliska are directly involved as well so ensure they are included on this, I would hate for that dried-up fossil of a Magistrix to make a scene at the next assembly with the Magistrate.
Your loving sister,
Magistrix Tyavel Felo'melorn
House Felo'melorn
Selenthiel shook her head clearly annoyed over her sister's letter. "By the light of the sun how am I supposed to handle an inquiry from the Ebon Hold when I am fighting a war!" she thought to herself. Judging by her sister's letter she had fully intended to send this agent, whom no doubt would be a Death Knight, to her garrison. The thought of having to dedicate so much time working side by side with one made her feel nervous. Selenthiel turned to one of the guards standing near the entrance to the town hall and snapped her fingers, summoning him. "I need you to summon Captain Furybrand. He was instructed to scout our outer boundaries, go now." Selenthiel said and with haste the guard saluted her and departed. She turned and walked up the stairs leading to the center of the hall and started to walk in the direction of her personal chambers but she was interrupted by the sound of the main doors being opened and she turned to only see Lan'Veros walking in. He quickly walked up the stairs and towards her and bowed. Selenthiel raised an eye brow out of curiosity at his quick response to her summons, "You certainly do not waste any time, do you? Did you even do as I asked or did you retreat back to the inn to indulge yourself in ale perhaps?" she said slightly annoyed at the thought of him not following her instructions from before. Lan'Veros simple nodded, "On the contrary my Lady, I did as you requested and gathered a few soldiers from the barracks and organized a scouting party to patrol the outer boundaries but to be fair, we were not that far out before I had been summoned by you...." he said boldly. He was right, it was not maybe 15 minutes ago she had made the request of him when they were outside. "My apologies captain, my mind is elsewhere. I must take a leave of absence for a few days as I return to Silvermoon and I need you to take command in that time." Lan'Veros blinked at her clearly shocked, "You are planning to return to Silvermoon? I presume this is over the letter your sister had sent?" he asked as he took a few steps towards her. Selenthiel nodded in response, "It is indeed. The Ebon Hold has sent an agent to search for an undead construct that my House and another had dealings with and I have been told to accommodate her by assisting her with this task but I cannot do so here....I must return to Silvermoon." Lan'Veros patiently said nothing. "It will be for a mere few days, I have faith you can handle this on your own?" she asked him. "Of course, but this seems rather sudden...you are not in any danger are you?" he asked with a concerned look upon his face. "No." she simply replied. "...not yet anyway." she said to herself. Selenthiel strolled away from the warrior in anticipation to ready herself to return home to Quel'Thalas.
