A taste of home

The young priestess stood on top of the garrison walls overlooking the empty frozen landscape ignoring the chilling wind that blew threw her hair. Her thoughts were her own as she gazed off into horizon but the occasional interruption of laughter and shouting coming from the inn inside the garrison would invade her thoughts. The wind howled almost it seemed in defiance of the commotion and Selenthiel rolled her eyes thinking to herself how much she truly missed Silvermoon and Quel'Thalas and began to understand why the Magister's had permanently enchanted Eversong Forest without the ridiculousness ever changing weather. "My lady..." a voice said from behind. Selenthiel turned only to see Captain Furybrand standing before her, his fel-green eyes standing out amongst the contained shadow inside his helm. He bowed and removed his helm revealing his short and well groomed red hair in respect of her, "Aeda has informed me that ritual is nearly complete and she has requested your presence." Selenthiel stood in silence for a brief moment appreciating the fine Sin'dorei man before her. His muscular form and good looks had impressed her now and before, with numerous times she had found herself diving into dangerous thoughts when he was around...and he knew he tormented her in that way. The two had formed a special bond since they both arrived on Draenor with hopes of turning back the Iron Horde's assault on Azeroth and not once had he left her side. He smiled patiently awaiting for her response and Selenthiel continued to stare at him deep in thought. "It must be some view..." he jokingly said at her. Selenthiel regained her thoughts and shook her head than smiled, "I was just imagining all of this...this whole garrison. Everyone here being under 'my' command. " she said teasingly as she pointed past him. She began to make her way off the wall to meet with Aeda at the Spirit Tower but was immediately stopped as Captain Furybrand moved to intercept her. "Including me?" he said with a devious grin. Selenthiel smiled at his words but quickly pushed him aside, "Especially you, captain.  Come, let us go meet our new warriors. "

Selenthiel and Captain Furybrand walked towards the spirit tower where Aeda had prepared the ritual, it was after all the only structure within the garrison that was linked and maintained with magical properties. "Do you think they will take kind to this? We are after all replacing them with newer and inexperienced soldiers...they may see this as dishonorable." Selenthiel sighed, Captain Furybrand's question was indeed something she had thought of before but in the end, it was too late. The ritual required a lengthy time to prepare for and even more to maintain. Abandoning it now would only infuriate the apprentice mages and most certainly Aeda. "I will bring forth a declaration to the current defenders of this garrison that in so doing this, will only strengthen our forces here in Draenor and most certainly our resolve. I will give them the choice to stay or to return to their village, I am sure the clan leader would certainly not oppose such a notion." Selenthiel said as she clasped her hands together. Captain Furybrand simple nodded and the two continued to walk towards the spirit tower. Upon approaching the entrance to the tower, a crowd of Orc, Sin'dorei and Forsaken garrison workers hurdled around the door in anticipation of the ritual. Some looked confused and nervous while others seemed excited. "Are you sure you are ready to turn them away, they have proven themselves season veterans and I almost think of this to be a foolish move to disregard them so quic-..." Selenthiel turned to her right and glared at him from over her shoulder silencing any further words. "This is my decision and my decision alone. I have the utmost faith in our new soldiers. This will make us stronger and further solidify our position here." Once again, he simple nodded in acknowledgement not wanting to anger her any further. Selenthiel and Captain Furybrand pushed their way through the crowd and into the tower.

Upon entering the tower, the room was filled with bright lights, causing shadows to dance around the wall sporadically. In the center of the room were 4 apprentice Sin'dorei magi whom were focusing their power on a small green crystal blaring with magic inside. Selenthiel and the captain entered and took positions near the sides of the wall, careful not to approach the center of the room. "Let us hope they succeed...or all this times worth of planning and collecting will have been for nothing." Selenthiel said with high hopes. "It had better be, commander." a stern voice said off to her right. "Your request to utilize the spirit tower as disrupted the elements here. It will take many days to recover as to what we have lost with the shamans having to stop their practices for this 'ritual of summoning' your people are carrying out." Selenthiel looked over to see Elder Shaman Kro'gar standing at her side, his expression clearly angry. "You have my sincere apologies Elder Shaman. I understand your customs and rituals are important for your people and your aid here has not gone unnoticed with me. You know why I am doing this and how important it is the ritual was performed here." The Elder Shaman grunted, "Yes, I understand your desire to have these soldiers but I still do not understand the full meaning as to why our current soldiers are being dismissed when they know these lands better. The elements have fought by our side and these new soldiers will be nothing more than strangers...I cannot guarantee the elements will..." but before the elder shaman could finish his words, he was interrupted by the sound of the shattering of the crystal in the center of the room. Green crystal shards fell to the floor and a magical sphere took it's place. The magical properties of the sphere were purple in color and they slowly churned clockwise. A blonde Sin'dorei approached the center of the room and stopped 5 feet from the magical sphere and began to incite an incantation by rising her hands, summoning the power of the magical properties from within causing the movement inside to increase. Selenthiel recognized Aeda Brightdawn, one of her most loyal followers start to summon the portal. A magical 'string' began to form between Aeda's hands and the magical sphere ,causing the magical sphere to react and begin to grow in size.

Minutes passed and the sphere was the size of a person. Aeda continued chant her incantation and focus her power on the developing sphere. The amount of power and concentration into such a task was monumental. Maintaining a summoning portal between Draenor and their Azeroth was difficult and Selenthiel had no clue if it could be done but if they were successful in opening and maintaining it, it would be a mastered spell that could be practiced and in time, be easier conjured at her request. "About....have....it." Aeda said as she struggled to maintain herself but within that moment, the magical link between her and sphere snapped resulting in the sphere to quickly dissolve into nothing. Selenthiel stood in silence as the once illuminated room grew dark and silent. Confusion immediately set in amongst her as she watched Aeda slowly approach her. "It is done." she said with a smirk. Selentheiel cocked her head in response and looked back to the center of the room and than back to Aeda. "What do you mean it is done?" she asked frantically. Aeda continued to smile and grabbed her arm, summong Captain Furybrand to follow as she pulled Selenthiel out of the tower. "I advise we vacate the room for safety reasons." The Sin'dorei apprentice magi were already instructing others to also leave the tower, including Elder Shaman Kro'gar who growled in response to them gesturing him to leave as well. "Aeda...are you telling me the ritual failed?" Selenthiel asked softly. Aeda simply shook her head, stopping only a few short steps from the entrance to the tower. The sound of crackling magic filled the tower, the room itself began to spark small beams of energy as a small portal began to form in the central portal of the room. Aeda laughed at her finally and walked over watch her magic summons flourish before eyes, " Come, do you honestly believe I would fail in such as task as this?" she pointed at the now large portal stretching from the ground up to the ceiling. Selenthiel's eyes widened as she focused on the portal inside the main chambers to the tower, "It worked..." she said softly under her lips. "What...what have you done!?" The Elder Shaman screamed as he raced up to her looking at the horror inside the tower. "The elements will not forgive us for using their tower as a unit for magical summoning! They will not easily forgive !" he pleaded. Selenthiel simply brushed her left hand through her hair and maintained her focus on the portal and moments later, soldiers began to materialize through the portal, Sin'dorei men and women all bearing the crest of Silvermoon. Selenthiel smiled, her task was finished and she had successfully accomplished her desire. She turned to the on growing crowd of Orcs, Tauren, Goblin and Trolls behind her whom all were clearly confused at the sight of a Silvermoon army coming through the portal. off to her right side, captain Furybrand stood ready to recieve her orders. "Lan'Veros...these are the replacements I spoke to you about. Let's make them feel at home and take command of our new army. Direct them to the barracks immediately." He nodded in response without question and left her side to begin to issue orders to the new Sin'dorei defenders.  Selenthiel turned to Aeda whom continued to smile and stare at the portal, clearly admiring her own work. "Aeda, I need you to inform the Frostwolf Orcs they are now able to return to their village, we will no longer be needing them." Aeda turned to her and nodded, "What shall I tell them if they question your actions?" Selenthiel turned to look back at Elder Shaman Kro'gar whose eyes met with hers, revealing his anger towards her. "Appeal to their sense of family. Remind them that this is not their home and that we are at war. If their village is to come under attack from the Iron Horde it would be best that they are there, fighting with their brothers and sisters and how awful I would feel if such a thing were to occur." Aeda smiled and quickly walked off to round up and Frostwolf defenders .Selenthiel knew these actions were not normal of her but she did not care, she yearned for home and was growing tired of the frozen lands of Frostfire. She knew her actions would be questioned by many and she was fully prepared to answer for it...or was she? Was this all in selfishness for her desire to make Frostwall seem a little more like home?
